TWO [Action]
(Village)
[Chili paces around the plaza aimlessly, hands shoved in his pockets, an unusually severe look in his eyes, staring hard at the ground. He's gritting his teeth and looks tense, but incredibly distracted by whatever's on his mind. Not lifting his gaze, it'll be rather easy to run into him, now, wouldn't it?
Now, be careful, or he might just explode.]

When Cilan spots Chili walking ahead, he doesn't think twice about approaching him.]
Oh, there you are Chili! [He actually seems a little relieved for a second, but then he frowns as he picks up on Chili looking a little more serious than usual.] Is there something wrong?
no subject
He actually looks worse off when he sees his brother. He looks upset for half a second, then scowls.] Nothing! Everything's just fine! We're all just FINE!
no subject
This taste doesn't appear to be "fine" at all, Chili. [He reaches out to place a hand on Chili's shoulder in what is meant to be a comforting gesture.] Will you please tell me what it is that's troubling you?
no subject
[The comforting gesture takes him by surprise and a look of guilt flashes across his face before being replaced by more anger. He roughly shoves Cilan away by his own shoulder.]
No way! That's exactly it, that's the root of the problem!
no subject
Huh? What do you mean? [Did...did we do something wrong?]
no subject
This is something we've got to do alone, me and Pansear.
So stay out of our way!

[There's a slight pause before he adds] If there's really nothing that I can do to help--if you still need time to let your thoughts ripen, then I can understand that. [It's part of the reason why Cilan gave Chili some space in the first place--suddenly being in a strange place like this and all the bizarre things that come with it, including any changes that may have been made to one's own family here, can be overwhelming. So, as much as he really wanted to stick close to his brother, make sure that he was alright here in this place...he didn't want to be thought of as too clingy. So he took a step back and gave Chili room to breathe, to talk to other people here and explore on his own because he had thought Chili wouldn't appreciate his brother hovering 24/7 like a worried mother hen. But...he doesn't like the idea of letting his brother stewing with such negative emotions on his own in this place.] But can you please tell me what's wrong? Even if you're sure that I can't do anything to help, I can still offer my support in spirit, right?
no subject
[He stays quiet, head down so Cilan can't see his eyes past the messy tuft of hair, just his gritted teeth, but doesn't pull away until Cilan's finished speaking.]
I'm not... just not— [He struggles to find the right words, muttering disconnectedly.]
Good enough! I'm not!
Until I am, we're through, finished! Understand?! Don't look for me!
no subject
"Not good enough"? [At what, exactly? This isn't about the gym again, is it? ...Well, even if it was or wasn't--] Chili, you know that I don't think that about you, right?
[Because really, saying that they're "finished" like that, or that you don't want us looking for you is rather worrying. 8(]
no subject
Who gives a damn what you think?! [Temper flaring and face reddening; if Cilan insists on making it painful, Chili won't fight it, because whatever works to keep Cilan far away from him, long enough for Chili to accomplish his goals, must be worth it.] I made my decision already, I don't want to see your face anymore!
no subject
Chili... [Yes, his feelings are a little hurt, but there's almost a warning in his tone. Like he's trying to keep calm--he doesn't want to turn this into a huge scene or have too many people nearby start looking in their direction.] I don't know what exactly has gotten into you, but I can't accept this taste. You're acting--["like a child", he can almost hear Iris supply helpfully in the back of his mind, but he pushes that thought aside.]--peculiar, and I...I want to help...
no subject
[He's not trying to attack Cilan, even if it looks that way, but he's just hoping to blind him with a cover of fire so he and Pansear can hightail it out of here.
But this is certainly open to misinterpretation.]no subject
Which might be why his reaction time to send out a Pokemon is a little slower than usual--if Chili and Pansear want to run away, this is probably your chance to try to do so now before he sends out one of his Pokemon to try to stop them.]

Good luck, Cilan...]

...Either way, this is a troublesome taste. Normally, Cilan practically had a sixth sense when it came to knowing where his brothers might be if one of them was missing, but...he's been stuck in Luceti for more than a year without his brothers around, the longest he's ever been away from them, so in a way, it almost feels like that sense has become rusty lately, which is something that he can't help but feel a little ashamed of. (Hell, Ingo and Emmet were practically inseparable when both of them were here, but Cilan can't even get his brother to talk to him right now...)
Cilan will spend the better part of the day trying to look for him, before eventually giving up and heading back to house 11 for the evening. He does try to look for Chili a little more and contact him daily, before getting annoyed enough after hearing about what happened with Ash to just leave him be without speaking for days, but...well, hopefully this will be resolved soon?]
