[When the recording first starts, Chili just stares at his journal, looking lost. There are entirely too many boxes of pastries and donuts entirely cleaned out save for some stray sprinkles, gathered all around him.

He brightens up rather quickly, though, wearing a big grin and presenting compass.]

Hi, this is Chili!

I'm looking for Mars! She saved me when I was in a real jam, so me an' Pansear have been trying to find her, but... has anyone seen her?

Long black hair, red skirt, looks kinda like those schoolgirls from Kanto...

Um, I think she's a Firebender? Anyone know for sure?

I gotta return something to her!

... um, I was thinkin' you could try reading a comic book or watching some stuff sometime, I know they got movies... there's something for everybody!

Maybe even things you'd enjoy, like... action movies or something. [I'm sorry, he still remembers you as the guy who flipped out over some nefarious third party who supposedly sent Chili after him, sounds like you could watch an action flick or two, get that stuff out of your system, Zuko.]

[ Its okay Chili you mean well. And despite his grumpiness Zuko does know that. Though he does give the guy a strange look.]

What are movies?

Moving pictures, sounds, you watch a whole story unfold before your eyes! With special effects that'll make the impossible, possible, my friend!

Let me introduce you to a world the likes of which you've never seen before!

[Throwing out a hand and making broad, sweeping gestures.] Meet me at the park and we'll go get a movie!

[It'll be so much fun, Zuko! You can't stay grumpy while watching a super exciting movie for the first time ever...!]

So... basically a play.

[Though he has to wonder where Chili is going to get people for an impromptu play. This should be interesting.]

Okay fine I'll meet you there.

[Chili's going to just run over, grab you by the arm like he's known you since forever (what is personal space), and haul you to the nearest shop, Zuko!]

[Zuko barely gets there and finds himself accosted.]

Wha-Hey!

[He seems to have little choice in the matter as he's pulled away.]

Look!

[His enthusiastic kidnapper hauls him into the store and pushes him none-too-gently in front of... boxes! Boxes with pictures!

Very tiny actors? Are there plays inside? Maybe they're very flat books. Exciting.]

Tapes! Pick something!

[Zuko stumbles as he's shoved towards a wall of... boxes?]

What?

[Clearly he's confused. He picks one out randomly and looks it over.]

What'cha pick?

[Chili scoots over to get a better look at the cover. Well, what genre does it look like? Zuko, what did you pick up?

A period piece? An action flick? A romcom?]

[Zuko looks really confused as he looks over the box.]

The Mighty... Ducks?

[The heck? Whoever heard of a mighty duck? And those don't look like ducks.]

Look anything like those turtle ducks you mentioned before?

... but sure, if that's what you wanna see...!

[He'll grab it and go] Let's go watch it!

They look like kids... with helmets on.

[Weird. He then blinks as the tape is snatched. Well... its all the same to him really. He doesn't care what they watch. So he just follows Chili.]

[In we go (wait, whose place is this? Is this even where Chili lives? Who knows!), locate the TV, and hey, there's a VHS player, let's pop in the movie! TV's on, everything's ready~~ smaller black box is fed into the bigger black box, stuff starts clicking and whirring aaaaaand—

BOOM, music, colourful logos and pre-feature previews—]

Laaaame, let's skip!

[Noisily fast-forwarding with all the shaky lines and things. Wacky stuff, right, Zuko?]

[What is all this stuff... what is he doing.

Zuko folds his arms and watches as Chili puts a little black box into a bigger box... and... an even bigger box suddenly lights up and blares sound.

Eyes wide and fire in his hand, Zuko suddenly leaps back!]

WHAT IS THAT?

[Bro, he's kind of fast-forwarding past the boring previews, there's really no need to get violent. He just turns back to stare at Zuko with the machine still making weird skipping sounds. It's a comically accompaniment to the silence and crackling flame.]

...

I said we were gonna watch a movie. Don't set anything on fire, will ya? Just sit 'n watch! It isn't real, you know. Just a bunch of pictures and sounds, they can't hurt you.

[He reaches up and knocks on the screen.]

Oops, might've skipped too much. [Gotta take it backwards now! Right 'til the start of the movie.] There!

[It's paused. Can he hit play or is Zuko still having a crisis?]

[He's still a bit uptight from the draft and stuff okay? But Zuko does squelch the flame and folds his arms again with a dubious expression on his face.

So yes, Zuko's crisis is over and he can proceed.]

[Great! He hits play and the weird shaky lines are no more, now, it's a nice clean picture and sound!

Watch pictures of people and music and hear people talking and you're the only two people actually here, isn't that magical?]

[Zuko continues to watch and leans down a bit to tap on the screen a few times.]

How is it doing that?

[There are... people doing things in that box. Whoa. Talk about weird.]

They're pictures! Like when we use our journals.

One picture after another, looks like it's moving! [He starts doodling in the corners of pages, to make a short flipbook.

It looks like either a stick person with a pile of poop on its head or maybe it's him. Or his Pokemon. Hard to tell. But the little stick person appears to jump when the pages are flipped fast enough!]

See?

[Zuko looks at Chili's demonstration and then looks back at the screen, not looking entirely convinced.]

But they look like real people, not a drawing.

That's because they used cameras! Y'know, to take a lot of pictures that end up moving, just like these drawings. Your journal does nearly the same thing, y'know!

And mics record the sound.

Now, just watch the movie, maybe I can get you some popcorn! It's like, traditional movie food.

[Well... okay. He supposes that makes sense, sort of. Though he has no idea how any of that works, but it doesn't seem to matter. So... Zuko just sits down and starts to watch.]

[Enjoy your kid's movie, Zuko.

It's white and puffy and crunchier than it looks, judging by the noisy sounds Chili makes as he walks over, shoving handfuls into his mouth.]

[He might've eaten like, half of it on the way. Half the box is empty.

It's inside another box. That's completely empty aside from a few unpopped pieces. May or may not have eaten all of his and started on your share on the way over. ~~Special ability: gluttony.~~]

[Arms folded, Zuko sits and watches in silence, perhaps looking a bit too serious as he does so. This is just... weird. He doesn't get most of what's going on. There's a bunch of kids whacking something around with sticks on... ice? And some guy telling them what to do.

So when Chili reappears with the popcorn, he takes the offered snack, not even bothering to look at it cause he's motioning a hand at the screen.]

What are they doing? Are they training for battle?

[Cause those sticks look like weapons and that one adult guy got hurt there in the beginning.]
